A traditional Japanese ornament carrying your wishes

Made by Imai Daruma NAYA in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, this Fukuiri Daruma is a Japanese good-luck ornament traditionally displayed with wishes for business prosperity and the fulfilment of personal goals.

The face incorporates cranes and turtles, traditional symbols of longevity: the eyebrows represent cranes and the beard represents turtles. The daruma's ability to rise after falling embodies the spirit of perseverance, often described as falling seven times and getting up eight.
